House Pictures: Part Three

We moved Taylor into the guest room and totally redid it. We added crown molding and painted. I am kicking myself for not taking "before" pictures because this room was transformed.
Taylor's new room...
One of my favorite things about this room is the window seat. I am having a cushion made for it but it won't be finished for a couple more weeks.
Her furniture was mine when I was growing up. My Grandma Cline bought it for me when I was 10 years old. Dave and I used it for the first 12 years we were married. Close-up of wall art...We hung this fun mobile over the window seat behind her bed... Close-up of her dressers... She's loving all the extra space!

Her bedroom also has it's own bathroom attached which we painted as well...
And we changed the hardware and mirror...
Close-up of the decor...

We also painted up the staircase and down the halls upstairs...Whew! Our whole house is finally painted...it only took us seven years! :) We are excited to kick back and take a break! I hope you enjoyed your "virtual tour".

House Pictures: Part Two

We moved the girls into "new" bedrooms. Taylor was moved into our guest room (pictures coming soon) and Lauren was moved into Taylor's old room. We did not paint Taylor's old room but we did rearrange the furniture and change the curtains. Take a look...

The room before (when it was Taylor's)...

Dave's mom made her quilt. She is so talented.

The room after (Lauren's "new" room)...

Lauren couldn't wait to have this bulletin board. She has coveted it for years! :)

My personal favorite...

We turned Lauren's "old" room...

...into a scrapbook room for me! We painted over the pink with the same yellow that was above the chair rail. I still need to add curtains and more decorations but who knows how long that will take me! :) Very cool paper sorter...
and my favorite... ...an embellishment center.

I am so excited to have my own space!

House Pictures: Part One

As I've mentioned here and here, we've been busy. We're almost finished so I thought I'd share. Here's Carter's room before...(It's not a great picture but it's the only one I could find as we forgot to take "before" pictures.)

and Carter's room after...
He used to have bunk beds, which we sold at a garage sale. We moved Lauren's bed, built by my dad, into Carter's room. It made the room feel so much bigger without the bunk beds.

Dave's mom made this awesome quilt for him (and matching curtains)...
(If you look closely, you'll see the crown molding we added.)
My dad built all the kids a dresser when they were born. The mirror is new...
This is Carter's favorite decoration...
My dad took these pictures of a grizzly bear in Yellowstone National Park. He made the frames too...
They go great with his bear quilt, don't ya' think? Carter loves his new room!
We also added crown molding and painted the kids' bathroom...
And we installed new hardware...
Speaking of hardware, we changed all the door knobs, hinges, etc. from this...
to this... I think it made a huge difference.

While in the middle of it all, we noticed our reverse osmosis system and faucet were leaking and that our garbage disposal had rusted out. Obviously, our kitchen sink was in dire need of a face lift... So, we took out the filtration system, replaced the faucet, sink, and garbage disposal and walla...
Much better!

Stay tuned for part two, as I have lots more to share! :)

Ticket

I started my morning out with this...It's a crappy way to start the day, let me tell ya! I've only had one other ticket my entire life. When the police officer walked up to the car, the kids said, "Do you smell bacon?" Just kidding...but I am considering teaching them to say that next time. :) Ha-Ha.

Bluebonnets & Indian Paintbrush

The wild flowers are breathtaking right now. There are fields of them everywhere and along the highways. It is such a beautiful time of year. The last couple of years, we haven't had as many bluebonnets due to the lack of rain. This winter we had a lot of rain which resulted in a gorgeous Spring. I took the kids after church and took lots of pictures. I loved this field as it was covered in both bluebonnets and Indian paintbrush flowers (Wyoming's state flower...where I was born and raised). Here are some of my favorites...

Welcome Spring!
