Thanksgiving Day

We had Dave's sister, Katrina . . .

. . . and her boys over for Thanksgiving dinner.  Her hubby, Kevin is deployed in Afghanistan.  We missed him.

We also had Lauren's friend, Caitlin, join us . . .

 The kids have been out of school all week and Dave's had the whole week off.  We've had a very relaxing, fun break.  We've been out to eat way too much, gotten caught up on our sleep, and seen a few movies.  It's just what we needed!  :)  We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

60 something?

My parents arrived back in Texas just in time to celebrate my dad's 68th birthday!  My mom's birthday was in August so we had a double party and had them over for dinner, cake, & ice cream.  We're excited to have them back in Texas for the winter!

Man Cave

This guy...

...has been working so hard that not only is he balding, but is going grey...

Just kidding (about the going grey part!)  :)  But, he has been working hard since the end of August, finishing his man cave.  He paid these guys...

...to build the structure.  Then he did all the rest of the work himself (electrical, sheet rock, paint, building his workbenches/shelves, air conditioning, alarm system, epoxy floor, etc.)  with a little help from good friends...

...in his spare time.  It's finally finished and he is LOVING having his own space to reload, work on guns, etc.  I have to admit, it is pretty cool.  I'm trying not to be jealous!  :)

Half Calf Benefit Ride

Laurie & I just finished the Half Calf Benefit ride.  We rode 25 miles.   Do you like our matching outfits?  We did not plan that.  During the ride, one guy passed us and said, "Hey!  It's the double mint twins!"  And, at the rest stop, a couple people asked us if we were twins.  :)

Tackle Football

Tonight is Carter's last game.  We've won all but 2 games so far.  It's been a good experience...much better than I thought it would be.  I was a little worried about tackle football.  I was afraid he would get hurt.  He is a wide receiver so he mostly blocks.  He said, "I hope they don't throw me the ball, because I'd be scared I'd get laid out.  I might just have to take a knee before they got me!"  That's my boy!  Basketball try-outs are coming up.  He really wants to make the team.  I hope he does.
