Taos . . . Day 1

The kids were out of school last week.  So, we . . .

 packed up our winter gear and headed to Taos, New Mexico with the Groppe's . . . 

We rented a house together.  It was nice.  It had a 

full kitchen . . . 

2 master bedrooms, 2 regular bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and plenty of space for everyone to chillax. . .   

 It even had a hot tub . . . 

. . . and a pool next door.   It was perfect.  The first day in Taos, we rented snow mobiles and had a blast!

The kids were so excited as they don't remember ever seeing or playing in so much snow!

I am feeling much better.  Thank you for your prayers.  We were able to go on our vacation . . . I can't wait to tell you all about it.  Lauren's thumb is healing nicely as well.  

We are on the mend.

I need your prayers.

Five years ago . . .

. . . I had a horrible thing called vertigo.  It was miserable.  I have prayed every day, for the past five years,  that I would never get it again.  Wednesday morning, I woke up with it again.  I do not have it as severely as last time but it is still miserable and debilitating.  Will you please pray for me, that I will make a quick recovery?  We are supposed to be leaving on a family vacation soon and I really need to be better.  Thank you.  

Tuesday, at recess, Lauren broke her thumb.  She is in a thumb splint and should heal fine.  But, if it's not asking too much, would you mind praying for her as well?  You're the best.

Dreams do come true!

Last night, Carter . . .

. . . refereed his first basketball game.  

He was born for this job.  

 Afterwards, he said, "I'll remember this for the rest of my life cuz' it was awesome!"

Vegas Baby!

Last week, Dave & I headed to Las Vegas . . .

We left Monday and got home late Friday night.  My parents stayed at our house and watched the kids.  Thank you!  You're awesome.

Tuesday, we spent all day at the show.  Wednesday, Dave went back to shot show.  I spent the morning catching up on sleep, working out, and then spent the afternoon with Cindy Welch.

She used to live in Cody, Wyoming (where I grew up) and I babysat for her.  She and her hubby, Brad sang at our reception . . .

~ August 1994 ~

  Shortly after Dave & I got married, they moved to Las Vegas.  I haven't seen her since they moved.  It was so fun to catch up.  She came and picked me up and we went to lunch, then headed to her home where I got to see 3 of her 7 kiddos (they are mostly all grown up now).  We then went shopping with 2 of her girls.  I loved every minute.  Thanks Cindy!  That evening, Dave & I . . . 

went to see . . .

 He was hilarious and boy could he sing.  Wow.  It's no wonder he won America's got Talent!

Thursday, we slept in, worked out, and then headed back to shot show.  We only spent a couple hours there; most of the day was spent walking up & down the strip taking pictures of all the cool hotels. . .

 That evening, we went to see David Copperfield . . . 

It was amazing.  We loved it.  But, I think Terry Fator was our favorite. Afterwards, we headed downtown for the Freemont Street Experience . . .

Very cool.  It was nice to get away for a few days and the kids did great.  They may have had more fun than we did!  :)  I have awesome parents --  have I mentioned that before?

Please stop growing up so fast.  I'm not ready for you to want to date, drive, and "hang out" with boys.  I want you safe and sound in my arms.
