Scout Camp

 Carter was gone all week at Scout Camp...

Last night was family night.  So, we got to see him!

 We went up for dinner...

checked out his "home away from home"...

...and watched them perform their silly skits.  Each troop nominated one Scout for the Honorary Camper Award...Carter's troop picked him!  The troop leader told us they picked him because he never complained, did everything he was asked, and always had a smile on his face...

We are so proud and impressed.  It has been 100 plus degrees all week and they've been in the heat 24/7.  I don't think I could have done it!  Good job bud!

He got home early this morning.  We're glad he's back cuz' we've missed him!

Danskin Triathlon

Last weekend I did my second triathlon.  I had done this same triathlon two years ago and my time to complete it was 1 hour 54 minutes.  This year, I did it in 1 hour 42 minutes.  So, I was happy.  We...

...got up at 4:30 a.m. to get ready to go.  The race started at 7:00 a.m. Dave got the kids up at 5:30 a.m. to be there by seven so we were all a bit tired!  :)

and  running...5K (3.1 miles) trail run.  (Definitely the hardest part for me!)

Our brother in-law, Kevin, is in the Army.  He is married to Dave's sister, Katrina.  They live about an hour from us and have 3 boys.  Kevin is getting deployed to Afghanistan next Friday.  He will be gone for one year.  This will be his third deployment.  We wanted to see him before he left, so Friday night we went to dinner at our favorite place...

Then we headed to The Cheesecake Factory for dessert...

It was fun to hang out!  We're going to miss him.  I can't imagine how hard it would be to have Dave leave for a year and they've done it twice already.  We are so thankful for the sacrifice our service men and women and their families make in our behalf.  Thank you.  We love you!

Michael Buble Concert

Wednesday night, my friend Paula and I...

 to see Michael Buble in concert!  It was awesome.  The band, Naturally 7 opened for them.  They were my favorite.  They were so good.  They do vocal play.  They do not actually play instruments but make the sounds with their mouths.  It was amazing.  You could not tell...it sounded like they had a full band.  You'll have to check them out!

 We had a great time but didn't get home until after midnight which was brutal as we had to get up at 6:30 a.m. for school the next day.  But, Friday was our last day, so we can chill now.  Yippee!!!   :)

~Ten Months Old~

Tuesdays at The Range

Every Tuesday, we...

head to the range to do a little of this... 

Then we head to lunch.  A couple weeks ago, Dave surprised me with this little gift...

He had gotten a new gun, that I shot remarkable well. :)  So, he ordered me one just like his, only mine is pink...Yay!

Have I mention that Dave is starting his own business (in addition to keeping his real job as a programmer)? He's been working on it for about 9 months and we are almost ready to launch. His website should be up and running in the next couple of weeks.  He will be selling silencers.

So, last Tuesday, I finally got to shoot my AR-15 with a silencer on it. It was really fun. Mostly because I didn't have to wear my really stylin' ear muffs...

When it's 95 degrees outside, they get really hot!  So, I was loving it...
